Round 3: notes
Same five-designer setup with the generated image library (35 images), real Vienna photos (stock.ts --place), and one review loop for every design (REVIEW.md: a reviewer with memory, a fixed rubric, full-size slices).
| | Strategy | Claude | Reviewer, by round | Cost | |---|---|---|---|---| | A | s10 Anthropic frontend-design skill | 7 / 7 | 7 → 8 → 8 | $4.62 | | B | s7 blueprint remix | 8 / 7 | 7 → 7 → 8, ship | $7.31 | | C | s11 local practice (hybrid) | 8 / 7 | 7.5 → 8 → 8.5, ship | $5.22 | | D | s6 photo art director | 7 / 6 | 8 → 8 → 8, ship | $6.35 | | E | s9 section posters | 7 / 6 | 7.5 → 8, ship | $5.20 |
Owner (Travis): headlines are an LLM-ism: "A family dentist on Maple Avenue in Vienna, open at 7:30 so checkups fit in before school" is far too much for an H1, too explainy. It has to go. (Cause: our own guides told the H1 to say "what and where … with one specific detail", an SEO habit. Rewritten: short headline, facts in the line below, contrastive examples from other businesses, and the reviewer checks every heading.)
Findings
- The review loop works: scores rise every round and the reviewers converge on "ship", where round 2's memoryless critics stayed flat. Keep it as the standard last step.
- Higher floor, less variety: all five are photo-rich and local, none SaaS. But three chose the same library hero (the dad tying his son's shoe) with the same panel-over-photo layout and the same "7:30, before school" headline, and a few library images appear in all five. Shared inputs now outweigh the strategies.
- Real local photos land: the W&OD depot, the trail, Maple Avenue; C's "Our neighbors in Vienna" section.
Next
- Split the library between designers, or one house style per design, so no two share a hero.
- Assign directions (e.g. country inn, editorial, bright neighborhood) so methods can't all find the same safe answer.
- Recolorable SVG for the illustrations, textures and motifs; a photo-tinting tool so photos take each palette.
